What to Expect at Your Emergency Visit
Call us. Tell us your symptoms so we can prepare and give you first-aid advice over the phone.
Examination and X-rays. Your dentist will examine the area and take digital X-rays to find the source of the problem.
Pain relief first. Our priority is getting you comfortable.
Treatment or a plan. We'll treat the problem, often during the same visit. If more work is needed, such as a root canal or crown, we'll explain the next steps and schedule them.

What to Do Until You Reach Us
Toothache: Rinse gently with warm water and floss to remove any trapped food. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the gum. A cold compress on the outside of your cheek can ease swelling.
Knocked-out tooth: Pick it up by the crown (not the root) and rinse it gently without scrubbing. Try to place it back in the socket, or keep it in milk. Come in immediately, since time is critical.
Broken or chipped tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and save any pieces. Use a cold compress to reduce swelling.
Lost filling or crown: Keep the crown if you can. Avoid chewing on that side.
Swelling or fever: Call us right away. If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling that affects your vision, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
